So...today I was in a pretty bad mood...all day long. I can't put my finger on the reason of my grumpiness but the thing is I had no intention of posting any kind of colour today...the day just seemed so...dull.
But as I was leaning over my netbook trying to find the "happy elixir" a word popped in my head! A colour word of course!!! And suddenly my day blushed a little and my heart fluttered for a moment!
You can't go wrong with pink...you can NEVER go wrong with pink! And there are so many of them too...hot pink, cotton candy, baby pink, strawberry pink, peony, reddish pinks, purplish pinks, dramatic and muted, light and deep...all of them unique and pretty!
I found a few pictures of pink interiors that I want to share with you...It's actually like a prelude to my next post as you'll see later.
So...what do we know about Pink ? It is considered the most feminine of colours, it's softest hues remind us of cotton candy and rose petals and its most striking ones make our blood pump!!!
Lucretius used it to describe the colour of dawn in his epic poem "The Nature Of Things".
The pink ribbon is the international symbol for breast cancer awareness!
It has been suggested that females prefer pink because of a preference for reddish things like ripe fruits and healthy faces.
In Japan the color cherry blossom pink is associated with a woman's vagina, and therefore, in Japan, softcore pornographic films are called "pink movies". O.O
"Seeing Pink Elephants" is a euphemism for hallucinations caused by delirium tremens! The concept was used in the Disney's animated film "Dumbo" when the cute character accidentally becomes drunk and sees a parade of pink elephants.
Ultimately Pink may not be all that innocent at times but it is definately one of the most beloved colours!
Next time you feel down give yourself a healthy serving of Pink and remember that things will only get better!!! I'm retreating now...to my (admittedly) Pink Room and just...be a princess in pink for the night.
Until tomorrow (cause I just won't give up) be well and veeery much "colourful"!!! K.
